Media Foundation Curriculum
Media Foundation 101 Course is a non-credit online course that will discuss the Foundations of Media and the 4 types of media: Print, Broadcast, Radio, and Internet. During the course you will get examples of each form of media. At the end of the course you will have a final project explaining the four types of media in a video. The final exam will consist of questions in a review of the foundation of media history and the four types of media. All compositions or writing analysis are due on the following day.

Lesson 11: PowerPoint Presentation.
Develop a Slide Presentation on the Four Types of Media. Use Visual examples and citation. (Must be between 10-12 slides.)
Lesson 12: Mock Interviewing.
In this lesson, you will learn how to do an interview in a journalistic style using what we have learned in Q&A format.
Pop Quiz. This will be a review of what we have learned so far in the course. However, the lesson order can change.
(Remember to use citations in each format of media. Here is how to use citations for each form.)
Lesson 13: Independent Print Media
Lesson14: Create Your Own Independent Print Media
Lesson 15: Independent Broadcast Media
Lesson 16: Do one live broadcast video discussing the 4 types of media although you have to stream the broadcast from the internet.
Traditional broadcast streams from the studio. In this lesson you will do a live stream broadcast from the internet. Length of Broadcast should be between 5-15 minutes.
Lesson 18: Independent Radio
Lesson 19: Create Your Own Radio
Lesson 20: Review of what we have learned so far in the course.
Lesson 21: Final Project.
Your final project will be presented in video format explaining the 4 types of media. Use visual examples and citation. Learn how here.
Lesson 22: Final Exam.
The Final Exam will consist of 100 questions, and a review of what we have learned in the course on the Foundation of Media, the 4 types of media, and a few questions about alternative media.
